Once we celebrate Labor Day, it always signals the start of Fall to me. The girls are back in school and the weather begins to cool down. But not too much for us here in Southern California! It’s my favorite time of the year, so I’m going to enjoy spending time with my family instead of laboring today. It’s my hope that you’ll be able to enjoy some down-time today as well.
Like most of you, I started working when I was child. First, little jobs around the house for some extra money to my first “real” job as a teenager that came with a check and the reality of taxes. I feel truly blessed to have such passion around the work I do as a Certified Financial Planner and here on The Heavy Purse. And on those rare days that I don’t, I remind myself …
We are the product of our own decisions, but we are also not an island. Our lives are shaped and made better by the hard work and sacrifices of others, and we should certainly equal their commitment and hope our hard work makes their lives better too.
Since almost everyone I know wants to create wealth, myself included, I’ll leave you with this food for thought …
When you look under the hood of prosperity, you see all the hard work that went into creating it, even if outward appearances make it look easy. Even with passive income, there is still hard work being done, just, perhaps, not by you. While hard work does not guarantee wealth, I have rarely seen prosperity occur without hard work and commitment at its foundation.
Happy Labor Day to those celebrating the holiday today!
